Did you know we now have an online store!?
AND we released our 2020 volunteer report.

Hosting an event or ordering catering with Kinfolk makes a positive difference in many ways. Every dollar you spend supports our volunteer hospitality training program and 100% of our distributable profits are donated to our partners The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and Cathy Freeman Foundation.

Our home is in the gothic heritage building, Donkey Wheel House located on 673 Bourke Street Melbourne. Here we have a range of versatile event spaces ideal for workshops, conferences, gala dinners, exhibitions, product launches and private events. We also have two cafe spaces; Sibling Cafe in Carlton North and Kinfolk Cafe in the CBD.

We can also host events and provide catering at your preferred venue or private home!

Our bike couriers are delivering catering across Melbourne everyday, so call us for your next catered office lunch.

See what our lovely friends and collaborators have to say about us

"Not only is their support and service outstanding, they are completely aligned with our values. Its important to me to work with companies that share the same commitment to making a difference and improving the world. We love not only using the space but ensuring our course participants support Kinfolk where they get to see first hand the impact of a social enterprise at work. Can't recommend them highly enough for your next event."

Carolyn Tate,

The Slow School

“It is important to us at

The School of Life

that we choose suppliers whose

values align with our own.

[Events by Kinfolk]

understands how we can all use business as a force for good in the world. Holding our events at them is a clear alignment of values. The service we receive is always friendly and personal, and the spaces are

warm and impeccably presented.”

Megan Sheehy,

The School of Life

"The events team have been integral partners of the Melbourne Creative Mornings chapter. Not only do their values as an organisation align with the most responsible and ambitious practices of all creatives, but the space itself offers an incredibly warm and inviting atmosphere rich with history, which is rare these days, especially in such a convenient location of Melbourne's CBD. It's fair to say that our chapters recent growth would simply not have been possible without their generous support."

Jeremy Wortsman,

Creative Mornings Melbourne

"Melbourne Development Circle provides a warm, friendly forum where people working or interested in development and humanitarian sectors get together regularly to listen to challenging speakers and network with each other.

It is perfectly located, accessible and its spaces are ideal for workshops and presentations; but what we love more is that Donkey Wheel House shares our vision – a vision to deliver events for people who want to make a difference."

Felicity Sowerbutts, Melbourne Development Circle

"As a training facilitator, I’ve found [Events by Kinfolk] to be one of the best venues in Melbourne.  The super-friendly and responsive staff are a great start.  Also, the spacious, airy and architecturally interesting rooms make for a terrific environment, with good technology and equipment provided. The individualised coffee service and tasty, healthy food from Kinfolk Cafe downstairs are exceptional. The location is also highly accessible, in terms of proximity to trains and trams. I’d recommend Donkey Wheel House as being suitable for a wide variety of meetings, training or other events. "

Deborah Rhodes, Trainer

"We had our team day in The Depot room. The room was well-equipped and size and layout made for a comfortable event. The catering was excellent and staff were both courteous and helpful throughout the day."

 Lorna Deng, NAB

"[Events by Kinfolk] is an energising space that has provided our workshops with a creative atmosphere to work in. It provides an alternative to the normal corporate spaces available in the CBD…and it is run by a team with a social conscience."
